List,

For those using the Jab USA supplied FWF kit:

Has anybody found the "Camloc Fasteners" (10 - Camloc #26S8-6) to be too long for the cowl? Just right? or ?

My cowl thickness seems to be around .150" which would indicate a 26S8-4 or -5.

I may be measuring incorrectly.....?

Thanks for feedback.
Mike

Cowl thickness can vary a little bit and sometimes a -5 would work better.
Another option is to space the camloc body out away from the cowl with a
small washer or two between camloc body and cowl.

Pete

Mike,

I did just what Pete mentioned and spaced the camlock body away from the lower cowl with a piece of .032 aluminum. It worked great. Picture attached.

Mike, you might try another fastner, like Skybolt, they are adjustable. Here are a couple of links. The first is how I discovered Skybolt Fastners use on a Sonex cowl. Scroll to the bottom of the page for recommendations. Second link is to Skybolt.

Many thanks to all that responded so quickly to my camloc question.

Now back to building.
