The RV10 forum is great place for ideas and problems in building and flight control.

After reading all the topics about the lower edge of the door bulging out in flight, I decided to come up with my own latch. I was able to design and install a center door pin that operates with the door handle. All of the mechanism is hidden by my interior's arm rest. This is a link to a page on my web site devoted to the door center latch.

Hi Rick .... almost ..... I have two latches inboard of the lower
corners ..... but don't have one in the middle. I'll stiffen the door
before I add another latch. I only know of one that the door bulges in
flight .... any others?? The one door could be an anomaly.
I'm in the process of grinding the door frame down to take the
McMaster-carr door seals. The dust gets blown out the door of my shop
.... looks like it snowed!!! In FL!!!

My feeling is that it could be a bad door. I paid close attention the last few flights and my door does not budge in the center.
Do the ones that have the bulge have the overhead console? Could it be internal pressure caused by high air flow?

I think that this bulge could be caused by the 2 door skins not getting glued correctly with the 3 Dimensional fiberglass. That door is pretty strong if both halves are bonded correctly. If that joint
would come apart I think the door would be much weaker.

I was wondering whether the earlier doors had the carbon fiber in them.
I have pink doors with carbon fiber bands across the bottom.

I think all of them do. Van added that very early in the development.
I am kit 111 and have it. Mine also was not the pink doors.
