Hi Guys, I have found the wing strut rod end with out problems but now
find that the threaded bolt that comes out of the wing strut end and
screws into to the rod end appears to be welded in place. Can anyone
confirm that this is a fixture and if it is how it can be replaced? This
bolt has broken off about 3/16th from the end of the strut and all
attempts to remove it the strut so far have failed.
Thanks guys

Regards
Graeme

Graeme,

That's an AN part that's rosette welded into the end
of the lift strut. That a really critical part and I
don't know the AN part number. Someone (named
John...) :
) with access to the Skystar liftstrut
fabrication drawings might be able to help.

Regards,

Ted

Thanks Ted and Shorty. If I decide to replace the bolt rather than use a
threaded tube, is there a particular strength that I need to replace it
with and do I simply cut the end off the lift strut and weld the new
bolt on?. Does anyone have a preference for the way of doing this task?
I can see how critical it is and how precise the fitting will need to
be. The load on the bolt is obviously significant so has anyone done the
calculations for the model 1V to see how much load is on each bolt? As
always, thanks guys

Regards
Graeme
