Finally got the cage repaired and got it sandblasted today. I realize that for most of you this is what a cage is supposed to look like, but for us it is a milestone. Especially considering what it looked like before...

Ist picture is April 18 of this year, 2nd picture is tonight, all primered, 3rd is where the two 6 gallon tanks are going to be. Now it will have almost 12 gallons of usable fuel. The 4th picture shows where the package shelf is going to fit. I took the small diameter tubing that originally located the gas tanks in place and built a package tray frame out of it. Will cover it with fabric.

So now we actually have enough parts of the right shape to constitute having a kit.... Yippee!

Old Poops,

I think it's pretty impressive what you've accomplished there, considering the rolled up mess you started with. Most folks would not have found the persistence to do that. Please keep us posted on your continued progress!

Well, ok, since all of the folks on this list have already built at least one Kolb, it didn't occur to me that anyone might want to watch one get rebuilt, but that sounds like fun.

Today I spent $450 of Ed's money at Aircraft Spruce, Twisted Evil sorry no pictures.

Richard,

At least one of us Kolb owner/pilots have never built an airplane of their own, a group that includes me. I may be the only one but I doubt it. In any case I enjoy reading/seeing everything there is to read/see about Kolb building/fixing/modifying/flying. As Mae West said, "Too much of a good thing is wonderful."
