Lets remember that in the earlier kits, there were less parts "factory cut" or "factory predrilled" so much were actually made the "fun way" (tracing from plans to the sheet of aluminum).
This way there was always a little chance of not making the part exactly to fit... Remember most of the builders dont have enough experience but want to learn on the process... Some of the non structural parts were not reapeted... Some are not perfectionists Smile
