I am wanting to buy and RV7A or RV6A. It seems the RV7s are higher in price than an RV6s. What are the differences between an RV6 and RV7. Is there any advantage to buying an RV7 over and RV6 or vice a versa. Thanks for any replies.

Hi Greg,
The -7 has a bit more fuel capacity, it's designed for up to 200 hp
(though that's been done on -6's), and has a bit wider spread between
empty & gross weight. IIRC, the acro gross wt is a bit higher too,
meaning you can stay safe with 2 bigger people in the plane.
The fuselage width is the same.
Hope that helps,
Charlie

I asked Van this question at one of the air shows. He said it's about two inches different whatever that means. The vertical stabilizer is different and a little bigger I think. The rudder is balanced with weight now which might give greater flutter margins? Other small differences but I'm not sure they are worth the extra dollars. Kinda like buying a newer model car because people will keep their old one if nothing seems to change. RV6 N666R
