Thanks for your response. As far as the 496 is concerned, internal problem-Garmin thinks they put the wrong screen in it, and when I get it back this time they feel all of my problems should be solved.
Regarding the electric fuel pump - Now that the aircraft has a total of 114 hours on it, I am pretty used to the engine start procedure and noticed that their seems to be a change. After turning the fuel pump on and opening the drain at the firewall, fuel flowed out and then the engine started easily.
My best guess was there must have been air in the line and the electric fuel pump was having problems overcoming it, because when the pump is frst turned on before the engine is started, it has never pumped up and stopped. Maybe my best solution is to replace the electric pump as I don't know just how long they are suppose to last. The most difficult part is getting to the two nuts on the back side of the firewall to remove the pump.
Linda
Have you completed the installation of your new wheel pants ?
It may all be in my mind, but I still think my airplane flies smoother with these new wheel pants.
Thanks again,
Jim Goad
