Am looking for a runout or rebuildable Jabiru 3300 engine at a good price.  Prefer hydraulic lifters.  Would also consider a later model 2200 with hydraulic lifters. Please contact me off list at :   lvuman(at)gmail.com (lvuman(at)gmail.com)         Thanks in advance.  Jim

Hi Guys;

A question:  After reading JABIRU's web site I noticed that they "REQUIRE" 95 or 100 LL octane.  Yet, on I believe Zodiac's site they say 93 Auto Gas "MoGas" is acceptable.  So, are there any REAL WORLD answers to this?  I am not interested in hearing about what JABIRU recommends or what the warranty states; just real running running engines histories.

I ask this question because I'm looking to build or buy a LSA and cost is always an issue.

Hi Barry

Jabiru says they want premium autou fuel or 100LL,  but the compression is only about 8.0 to one.  I fly with 100LL because it's handy at the airports but I"m certain you'd be ok with 93 octain fuel.

Cheers

95 octane RON equals 91 octane the way it is labeled on pumps in the USA. There are many posts in the archives addressing octane measuring systems.

It,s not just the compression ratio but also the temperatures that the cylinder head reaches that demand higher detonation resistance from the fuel
