What's the BIGGEST carb for the 532? I read about tuned exhaust but such a narrow power band - (usually, where you don't need it) OR, melting pistons or disturbing the neighbors... How about larger carbs? .. Which, Where? How much? Tnx, Larry

532 -- don't bother a larger carb as gains will be minimal if anything.
your muffler is limiting your power more so than the carb.
532 work ok stock.
You want more power get a 912
or if you want to experiment and get gobs of power but won't be the best cruise machine.......
do a rotax 670 -- you will get 110 to 130 HP and climb well over 2000 fpm. you might see close to 3000 fpm if your plane is light enough WWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW !!

I don’t think larger carbs would do the trick… maybe nitrous or supercharging but I wouldn’t want to do either on a two stroke engine.

Dave, Are there any of those 630 Rotaxes available? I have never seen one for sale. You state "It won't be the best cruise machine". Why? Is it strictly gas burn rate or something else? What does a 630 weigh in comparison to a 582?

Pat, First off it is a 670 Rotax not a 630.
Weight about the same give or take 5 lbs.
670 have RAVE vavles which open up the exh. port but not till over 6000 rpm ......... you max HP will start to happen 6500 to 8500 rpm. with a decent pipe. You have to mod the crankcase and cut the PTO of crank a bit shorters and make a smaller morse taper in to to fit the Rotax gear box.
Fuel burn at wide open throttle will go from 7 gal a hour to 11 to 15 gal hour. HP come s at a price .

Dave, Thanks for quick reply. I realized after I sent the message it was a 670. Sounds like there are other issues with, retro fitting the crankcase, PTO, HP and torque not available until higher RPM, narrow power band, that make the engine less than desireable for our application.

Tom, Thanks for the Rotax 670 add. I don't need one at the moment, but am noting the shop offering it. It appears they specialize in Rotax.

OK Guys, I'm beginning to see a pattern, here. I'll just leave her the way she is. I guess I spoiled myself with a mod3 w/912. The older mod2 with the 532 seemed a bit puny and I was hoping for a cheap, easy way to boost it's performance. But, you're right, she flys just fine the way she is. I do think that I'll look into VGs for both of 'em, though. Thanks a lot, guys. I've learned a lot in the past few days. Adios for now, larry
