All,
I found this used and recommended on one of my yachting lists:

http://www.ethanolrx.com/

Anybody use it?

It looks oike it may help prevent phase separation but I doubt it will do
much for the problem with tanks, rubber etc.

Guy,
I have been using green marine StaBil. It too is suppose to act the same way with alcohol. Haven't used it long as our state just switched to alcohol.
I wonder if the cops could give a DWI to your car. The max in our state is .08 (sick early morning joke)

I found a strong sense of skepticism when looking at the website. This
additive might work, but the explanations sounded a bit like the "snake oil"
arguments to me. I took a bit of organic chemistry in the day - just enough
to become totally humbled by its complexity, though - but the molecules
shown in the illustration all appear stable to me. Carbon has four valent
bonds and every carbon molecule has all the bonds satisfied. This is the
reason resins use a catylist - to dusturb the bonds so the switch from short
chains to long chains can occur during the curing of a resin. Also what
does the cracking of petrolium molecules have to do with protecting our
tanks from the ethanol. Maybe this additive is just another brand of fuel
stabilizer.

Like I said, it might work fine, but the page itself looks a little suspect
to me - just color me a skeptic for now.

I agree with you Lowell. I think the stuff was designed to stop phase
separation at normal temperatures. I'd like to know how it would affect
fuel in a plane's wing where it can get cold in flight and how it would help
protect resins from ethanol
