All-
With the dearth of correspondence lately, I was wondering if I was still connected.

Cabin fever. This is the first decent day we've had since last year, so all I can do is prepare for the next freeze. None of us have been able to do squat on our projects lately.

Same here, even in Texas. However, it is supposed to be near 70 next week. (Sorry)

Insulated garage doors, dynaglo propane heater from Home Depot (highly recommended). I'm good down to about 20 degrees, last week's cold snap was a bit much though. The propane is a lot nicer than the kerosene heaters as the exhaust isn't quite as smelly. I can usually run it for about 10 minutes and run it for about 5 minutes every half hour or so.

Sorry to rock your boat, but we have 94 deg outside with perfect visibility.

By the way that is over here in Brisbane Australia.

Any way we are in the same boat in a way, we are still waiting for the upgrade kits to arrive so we can not do much anyway.
Coming on the slow boat from china (USA).

Keep a positive outlook anyway.

I just resumed my project last Wednesday after a 2 weeks hiatus due to freezing and near freezing temperatures. Today is in the nicely mid 70s, I'm in South Florida. In any case, I'm riveting my spars and I'm very close to the point where I will need the upgrade kit to continue. My order is #8079 and it looks like early to mid February for arrival.

Now, back to the shop for me.

  Mornin’ Gents,
Likewise, I am awaiting warmer weather here in Missouri so I can go to the hangar and rip off the wings that just got attached a month before Thanksgiving, or thereabouts. I’m struggling with the idea of drilling out a thousand plus rivets and destroying a perfectly good paint job. I was out there Saturday and a few guys had some (3) propane heaters in the 80’X80’ hangar and it wasn’t too bad. I went next door and there was an XL in the middle of the upgrade. My heart sunk a little more as I looked upon the pile of recently made parts that had been removed from wings and fuselage. I commend him because he was still upbeat about all the extra work involved. I was somewhat more inspired to get on with the modification after talking with Mike. It’s supposed to rain this weekend, so I think it will be a good time to take some frustrations out on The Bird. I’ll disassemble it and transport it back to my old workshop that is fully heated by a forced air furnace and begin again. To all of you in the same predicament, I say “Good Luck”, and keep on drillin’.

  Rick
