winter flying Rotax engine and starting up at -20c
while the rest of you sit in your chairs Smile

Fueling up a plane with ethanol gas then flying for 2 hours at -18C
did the tanks melt ? did we get phasse separation?
did the lines freeze?

Did we have to get out survival kits ?

Hi Dave,

I agree with you. Ethanol is simply not an issue for most new planes.

The problems with Cessna, Piper, Lycoming, and Continental is they
don't want to remove the antique cork gaskets and sloshing materials
in the original type certificates. That cost money!

Not a problem... Flying an certified plane on ethanol is not allowed in this
country with few exceptions all of which have to do with testing.
