While we are on the subject. i e-mailed ZAC about 3 weeks ago about an error I thought to be in the PDF photo guide. Page 10 of the 6 ZU-4 says to square the ribs holding the counterbalance and flat on a surface. Then back drill the inboard rib. If the hole is drilled square to the hinge line then when they are skewed to be parallel to rib 3 shown earlier then the holes will not line up. It cost me 2 new ribs and a counterbalance tube. if I am wrong about this let the flames begin! They said they were going to change the photo but as of yet it has not been changed.

I had the same problem. I didn't think about it at the time when I couldn't
figure out why the forward part of the outboard rib wasn't touching the
forward part of the aileron then I thought about squaring the ribs then cocking
them at an angle no wonder they weren't fitting. I had to put doublers on
my ribs and reversed and turn 90 deg my arm to keeping from having to buy new
ones. Also the latest revisions have two more angles for the #1 nose ribs
that weren't included in my kit. Plus several other changes that most I had
already figured out on my own. These are dated 1-25-2010. David Coberly
