Hi List,

I've repaired for the last time, broken wires on my modules and have decided to just replace them both. Before I go out and spend my kids college tuition on new modules I wanted to check if anyone had any used modules, with no broken wires, for sale. My 912 is an older model with four pin connector and single leads going to coils. Module part number is 965-358

Thanks,
Scott

There's some on E-Bay now. I don't know if there the 4 or 6 pin though.

Wires on these puppies should not ever break if they are supported
properly. Where did they break?

Hi All,

While you all on on the subject of ignition modules I have one for sale. It is brand new never used still in the package. It is a 6 pin and is for a 912ULS (100 HP). Original cost was $1044. I will let it go for $850.

When I purchased the plane last April, several of the module wires had been butt spliced with cheap automotive splices, within 1/4" of where they exited the module. The butt splices were over crimped causing the wires to eventually break and the strands were corroded as well.

About 80 hours ago, I re-spliced all the wires by soldering and covering with heatshrink. Evidently, a solder joint came apart and/or wore through the heatshrink. There is not enough left sticking out the module to "safely" fix anymore and it does not look possible to split the module for replacing the entire wires.

If the wires were corroded as well that makes me think someone tinned the
wires with solder before crimping... That would cause corrosion and
breakage.
