When setting up the pitch control rod, have you used the length in the plans,685mm which would put the horizontal tail bellcrank at approx 75 degrees when the stick is at 90, or are they both at 90 degrees then the length should be approx 625mm. Thanks.

Harvey, attached is a document that I got From Jon Croke. It originally came from Caleb (at the factory) I believe. It might help clear up your issues.

By the way, this did not help me at all and I ended up cutting the belcrank off of the torque tube and solidly mounting it to the airframe. Sorry guys, I'm not going to share any pictures of that because I'm not happy with it yet.

Thanks Doug. That makes more sense than having both at 90 degrees as the cables have to go to the top of the fuse ans should be equal lengths as I see it.

I tried to follow Caleb's suggestion too. And for the most part it worked. Just be sure to fit the pitch control rod last. I think I had to cut about 15 mm of the end to get the 30 mm slot right.
I still get elevator cable tension of 30 lbs when I move the stick to the side. I am going to try 10 lbs and see if that helps.

Tommy, does your top elevator cable clear the top of the channel that supports the back end of the torque tube? The main reason that I went with a separate bell crank was that my cable was seriously rubbing on the channel. I now have a good inch of clearance.

Doug,
I responded to this, but I must have done something wrong as my comments do not appear.

Yes, we have clearance of the top cable over the back of the channel. Not much, but it does clear.

I like your idea of the separate control.
