Hi All,
I have removed my landing gear, after 183Hrs on the hobs, to turn it around, and found that the front three rivits at the mounting point, on the underside, that goes into the landing gear channel. (At the very edge iof the bracket) had lost their heads. This was the case on both sides of the fuselage. There was no sign of direct movement, between the landing gear and the channel, but there must have been movement between the rubber (14/inch thick) and the bracket, that holds the landing gear in place.
I have replaced the rubber with 1/4 rubber as before, but where it meets the underside channel, I have instlled a 1/4 inch softer rubber compond, that will NOT rub off the rivets heads, I hope. I have also re-notched (Because I have turned the gear around) the gear more accurately, and hope that there will be no more movement.
Just a heads up, for those installing the gear, and for those thinking of turning the gear around, like I have done.
Hope this helps
Jonathan
