One of the things I failed to do when adding electrical items to my plane
was to make a chart of amperage draw. Now I find I can't run everything and
have the generator keep up with the current draw.

I love to fly at night and many towers request that you keep the landing
lights on approaching and in the pattern. According to A/S my GE landing
lights draw 100 amps each, way too much for the generator and battery. Will
have to switch to LED lights but at a terrible price.

Something to consider when building.

Wow! 100 Amps for the landing lights, they should be able to see you
clear across the Atlantic on approach!

100W landing lights should be around 7-8 amps (at) 14vdc.

I was also pulling too many amps with landing, strobe and nav lights all on.
So at Oshkosh last year I purchased a 1-amp solid state landing light. It
cost about $200 and works OK.

I replaced my 4509 bulbs with bulbs that use 0.5 the power.
I made no modifications, it was 'drop in' replacement.
