I have an Xcom in my fox and love it as well. 1 small issue when it was first installed it but xcom sent out another radio before I even had the bad 1 out of the plane.

Hi all

Further to the continuing saga of my argument with Microair about the radio I bought from them. To cut a long story short I bought a new Microair 760 radio last August, had it installed by a highly qualified radio tech, and the radio failed the first time we turned it on.

Microair sent me a "replacement" which turned out to be an old repaired second-hand one so I ended up paying top dollar for an old repaired radio that they had sitting around on the shelf !!!

But now for the good news. Previously I had an early model Xcom radio made in 1994 in my Avid but as I had had a few problems with it, when it finally died I thought I would try the Microair as they both fit in the same hole in the dash panel.

When the boss of Xcom, Michael Coates, heard about all the problems I was having he sent me a brand new, latest model Xcom radio ABSOLUTELY FREE as a gesture of goodwill !!!!!!!!!!!!! I installed it in my plane before Christmas and have recently flown my Avid the full length of New Zealand, from the top to the bottom, and the Xcom is working perfectly. Xcom radios are now made in the USA by Narco and are a vast improvement on the old Australian made ones and the least I can do is publicly thank Xcom and tell you all what they have done.

Sorry Malcolm but I already have several mates here in New Zealand who would like to take it off me. At present I have it wired up in my house so I can listen to the local traffic and airport Atis.
