I lost one of the 8 nuts on my exhaust pipes.
Can anyone tell me the size of that nut (metric? SAE?) and a source for the nuts?
Thanks,

Hi Tommy,
It is an M8-SW12 locknut. It is a different type of locknut and meant for those high temps. I don't know where locally you might pick one up. Best bet is CPS, Lockwood or leading edge.

Tommy,
I just replaced my exhaust nuts (and a couple of studs) last week. You are supposed to use new nuts and locktight the studs in the head. Make sure you follow the Rotax SB on the subject as you could end up deforming the flange and have it touch the head if you use too much torque. The SB addresses that. ( I think you use a normal 180 inch lbs to as low as 120 inch lbs in order to keep from touching the head...but check)
IF you decide you don't want to order new nuts, (not recommended) I saved my old ones and can send you a couple if you give me your address.

I had to order 4 from Lockwood to get the minimum order of $10.00.
Oh well, I will have extra
Thanks for the help all.
Roger, Lockwood would only search for the part if I gave them the rotax number, so I had to show the lady how to find the number in her price list.
They've had some problems with their website and parts database. I notice they took it off line a year or so ago and haven't put it back up.
Thanks again,
Tommy
