I've been underimpressed with EAA's mags and Web site. Well, the new
format and direction of their Sport Aviation mag has changed my opinion
on the magazine.

Even though magazines seem to be on their way out along with some other
print media, EAA made some substantial changes and I'm actually looking
forward to getting it each month. Great how-to articles - many basic,
some less so, but all welcome. Nice Job!

So now its Kitplanes because I'm building, Flying because of the
writers, Sport Aviation because it's much better now.

Now I'm going back to the EAA website and re-check it out. I've liked
the how-to videos I've seen so far - maybe more improvements await.

We're on the same page. I really like the new magazine and the video
tips on the website. Great stuff.

I still like Kitplanes, but I'm not looking forward to it as much
anymore. The latest Sport Aviations have me more excited about them.

I'm just wondering how long they can keep up the content before running
out. Right now, the content is pretty dense and I love it.

It'll be interesting to see how KP responds... Especially after their
negative "I told you so" editorial that was directed at the EAA a few
months back.

Yeah, Sport Aviation has gotten back to just about as good as it was when
Jack Cox was the editor. He retired some years ago and moved to Asheboro NC
where he now publishes an excellent mag called "Sportsman Pilot" A very
nice magazine, for only $12 a year (4 quarterly issues).

The latest issue has a nice article about my Pietenpol in it.

Bill, I agree, I really enjoy the articles about Reliability Centered Maintenance. I've actually started to read the articles again.

Density is good. I still look forward to Kitplanes with one big
reservation - the 'survey' issues where they do the lists - lists of
plans built aircraft, lists of kits, lists of engines. A waste of
paper... just filler.

Maintaining those kinds of lists is a service to the community I guess
but just put it on a web page. I want to see Stein's series or the
machine shop stuff. How-to stuff is the draw for me even if it's stuff
I don't plan to ever do.

On the other side of that coin, those are some of my favorite issues.
I like to go through and look at all the various designs, specs, etc,
and drool a bit... Smile

I don't mind them too much but I wish they were addendum's or maybe just online. I feel like I lose a month of content every time one of the "list" issues comes out and I believe they are up to three a year now. Marc tends to watch these high activity lists so hopefully he sees some of the feedback.

I totally agree with Michael. Those three issues are almost content free in
my opinion. They should maintain these lists on their web site. Or do
like some other industries and produce an annual buyer's guide to give to
new subscribers.
