Any advice on repairing fabric on my kolb would be appreciated. My hangar partner grabbed my prop while it was folded up and put a nice slice about 1 1/2" long... it's nice and clean at least . I was a little upset because the covering is in perfect shape... until now! Do I have to remove the paint around the area or is there a product that I can apply right over top? Oh, and I'm on the lookout for a 912s!!!

Tony- First, do you have the Poly Fiber (Stits) covering?  Second, does the covering look hard and shiny like an M&M, or is it a little duller?  Try some MEK on a Q-Tip near the edge of the cut.  If the paint dissolves, it is probably Poly Tone- an easy fix.  If it has the candy shell, the MEK will not dissolve it, and the repair is just a little different, but not difficult.  I have fixed both, and I definitely qualify as an amateur.  Both came out very nicely.

Tony- The shiny candy shell covering is usually Aero-thane.  Poly Tone is the semi-gloss stuff.
