I am probably making a bigger issue of this than I should, but I have been delaying this for too long. I just don't want to make these wires pass through in the incorrect location.  Can anyone direct me to some good photos of the location they chose and hopefully a location which didn't interfere with anything else.

Thanks,
John

John, I followed the Van's plan for routing those 2 wires. It gave a
good location for the firewall pass thru of the fat wire that one
probably wouldn't choose on their own. It also specified a routing
forward to the starter and alternator (I only have a 40amp Alt up front).

This is a helpful picture.

That hole on the right side of the plane(Left side while looking at the picture), near the upper engine mount/firewall tie in location will be for the alternator wires. What I was speaking of are all the wires for the sensors, CHT, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure switch, etc. I see that you have them roughly in the same spot that I have been reluctant to drill because of the unknow.
Does anyone anyone have any issues with this location?
Thanks you. Nice helpful photo
John

I hope you are planning some fire protection for those firewall snap
bushings in your photo. I know Van's doesn't call for it, but they also
use aluminum to protect the center tunnel from a blast of burning avgas.

Here's another shot to consider. I ended up pulling my sensor wires a
bit lower down because I filled up back of the firewall with other
components - ground block, manifold pressure sensor, 2 LR3 Alt
controllers. By the time I got to the sensor wires, I had to move the
hole further down. I can't think of any gotcha's for any of these
locations.

Well, I'm not planning anything beyond some high temp RTV.

That is about where I put my sensor wires. Try and leave that triangle
as open as possible as that is the hole through which you will likely be
removing the oil filter when it is time to do the oil changes.
