I was thinking of making one or two little protective covers for my AOA pressure ports using a couple of suction cups with a “Remove before Flight” tag hanging off.
Overkill, or useful?

Don’t have an opinion on the static ports. But I highly recommend a cover or preflight on the fuel vent lines. I had a wog crawl into the line and completely seal the vent – noticeable by a profound sucking noise when the fuel cap is removed. Having seen the consequences of a blocked vent (a badly crushed tank), I check the vent line is clear every flight.
Cheers

A bent pipe cleaner (W) poked into the vent will keep out critters. Mud daubers are a problem here in the SE, and the pipe cleaners work. You don't even have to remove them for flight.

another reason to have two holes per vent line. I have the normal vent lines beveled forward and inside the fairing I have a #50 hole drilled in the backside of the vent line. This is in a protected area in case impact ice or snow would clog the normal vent.

Aussie slang for any creepy crawley, bug, critter, insect etc. There are also a number of politically incorrect definitions that I won’t go in to, but none in that category will fit inside the vent line J.

This is one of those things that has always intrigued me. Has anyone done the math on if an #50 hole can provide the volume of air to offset 10+ gallons per hour?

I like Tim's check valve idea in case the vent line becomes blocked.

The sensors have to be extremely sensitive to measure the change in pressure associated with a change in AOA, so putting a suction cup over the AOA port might have a negative effect on the calibration of the sensor(s). Just a thought, I don’t know the system or components.

A suction cup won't work anyway, because the hole in the wing won't let you get any suction! I felt like a real dummy when I figured out why the little suction cups I bought to cover the upper and lower AFS ports would not stick to the wing. Duh!
