Hello. Where are the sections on a 601 HDS wing that will support the plane underneath? I plan on replacing the nose bungee and in addition to tying
down the tail and lifting up on the engine, I would like to place a support under each wing in case of failure. My guess is that the support point would be under the
area where we walk on the wing.
Regards,
Damien

Hi Damien,
I made a set of wing stands to do the job. The wings were off when I did
these, but you could make a set that supports the spar area
as shown here. You may have to adjust the angle a bit, but I replaced
bungees one at a time while on this rig. Lift the airplane, set in the pin.
or just place the support under the spar.
See attached image.

Not sure what you mean, but if it is to put the plane on saw horses or something like that, I'd say that anywhere under the main spar should be good (main rivet line underneath)... at least, this is the case for the 601 HD.

Here is a not so fun example...:

<?xml:namespace prefix="v" /><?xml:namespace prefix="o" /><![endif]--> Hi Damien I just finished helping Ray Huffman replace his nose bungee, and all we did was to put a sandbag on the rearmost part of the fuselage (front part of the plastic saddle). It held just fine. Ray has a Soob EA81 engine, fairly heavy.
