It is not a simple job!
You have the choice of a single 180 litre tank each side which is not great from the position of quantity measure ment.
The better solution is a separate 85 litre tank in each wing with a separate filler and a non-return valve between the two.
BUT either means that you have to compromise the strength of the wing and this strength has to be replaced.
Also,all has to be done in a proper wing-jig to keep the wing straight.So not a job to be done at home!!

How often do you need the long range of the extra fuel?
I was at Sun&Fun airshow and at one of the exhibitors booths was a guys selling flexible bladders tanks. They were different sizes and shapes. One was even shape like a seat. (I personally don't think I could bring myself to sit on one). Some years ago (3) I looked into the possibility of getting tankage for a possible Trans-Atlantic flight for the B-24. These would have hung in the bomb bay much like the "Tokyo" tanks of WW2. It was quite possible with these bladder tanks.
I am not that familiar with the 18T's fuel system but would it be possible to put a bladder tank in that humongous baggage compartment and hook into the regular fuel system?
Size and how much fuel you could carry would depend on c/g constraints. There is always compermise in design. The idea of carrying fuel in the fuselage may not be the best of ideas, but has been done so since the very first airplane. Depending on the government you live under, that might cause more head aches than getting a tank to fit somewhere.

There is also a simple factory mod. for a 130 litre tank in the rear baggage compartment.No fuel management-this gets used first and then it goes over to the normal wing-tanks.
The 18T is a big plane with a lot of room inside,but this does take up two-thirds of the compartment.AND,with a big guys in the rear seat,the C o G is getting a fair way back!!

Has anyone looked at the YAK-52 wing bladders as a replacement for the cans in the 18T’s wing? I do not know much about the 18T fuel system so that is why I ask the question. There is a great article by Gil Hayes in the Fall RPA magazine on installing the fuel bladders in the YAK-52. Are the bays in the 18T the same size? If so, then the RU design bureau has signed off on the instillation of bladders in the 52 for EU use. Why would that not work for the 18T?

Unfortunately Doc, the Yak 52 fuel bladders will not fit the 18T, nor will the CJ6 bladders. They can definitely be fabricated though. It would require an 18T to take all the measurements etc. and then to install the initial prototype bladders just like we did for the Yak 52 bladders.

Dennis Savarese sells the 52 bladders. He is on the list. Contact him with the bay’s measurements. But before doing that contact him for all he would need before pulling a can.

Remove the fuel tanks and make a full size template using poster board or something similar of the fuel tank cavity. Be sure to carefully mark the fuel filler opening as well as the holes in the ribs for the vent line and fuel feed. Contact me off-list once you have completed this and I will give you an address to ship the template to. Using your template we may be able to approximate the cost for 18T fuel bladders.

Yeah. I miss trying to find a tanker amidst thunderstorms at night after a
couple of foul deck or pitching deck waveoffs only to find a basket that a
nugget has beat to smithereens, knocked the lights out of, ripped up the
turkey feathers so they swing in and out of view of a probe light..... Oh,
I forgot blue water ops.

night refueling, that can be sporting even with a probe!
