KF friends,

Where do I install the sender for a water temp guage on a 912 UL installation?

I appreciate any ideas.

Hi Clem, you won't find a water temp sender location on the 912. Most people use the CHT gauge instead as it should be similar temps as water. On my 912, I installed a water temp sender in the top of the spider. I drilled a hole and used Hysol to glue in a threaded insert.

Clem,

I am just about there on my new project and the installation manual calls for a CHT sender fitted to 10mm tapped holes on cylinders 2 or 3. you will find these facing down on those cylinders. Some have also installed some type of actual coolant temp gauges. I chose to go with the factory (Rotax) recommendation and used the tapped holes in the heads.
