CJ with stock engine (and stock everything else).
Generator light on, stays on no matter RPM. Even after shut down and restart (twice).
What's the usual cause?
Thanks!!
Jon

With the engine not running, have you re-set the generator switch/circuit breaker?

Yes, that was the first thing I tried. It didn't seem to be "popped" and turning it off and on didn't make a difference.

You need to determine whether it is a gen light fault, or the thing is
doing it's job and just telling you that the generator is simply not
working!
Check your voltmeter and see if it rises when you increase engine RPM
past say 60% or so (just a WAG on the actual number, I am not a CJ
electrical expert).
Failing that, put a meter on the generator output while running and see
what it reads.
If all this sounds too hard ... Contact an A&P.
