Had a melted piston belt was loose. Rebuilt the engine new crank, 2 1 over pistons new heads. Bored the cylinders to min amount, went through the 1 hour run up the engine got tight. Took it apart and bored it to the max amount. Broke it in for the hour recommend runup added extra oil for the breakin. Everything ok flew for one hour it stoped , ended up in a barley field. Took engine apart and the skirts of the piston are damaged. Like there was no lube. Use AV2 lube has anybody ever had this problem?? Ed 717-725-4866

What piston to cylinder clearance did you have when you rebored it?
Did you chamfer the port edges?

The first time we bored it to the mim amount then we bored it to the max amount . we are using av 2 cps oil and we added a coffee cup more to each 5 gal. I am sure they chamfered the edges. When it got tight I was on the bottom tank which had a richer oil mixture. I had flown for about hour on the top tank which was the 50 to 1 mixture. when I switched to the bottom tank with more oil it lasted about 10 minutes . order 2 new pistons will try a new oil with 100 to 1 mixture. Lock Leaf told my rebuilder that there has been some issues with adding to much Av-2 oil during break in .
