Hi
After a fun filled day, I installed my baggage door. It is quite flush with the surrounding skins except for the top edge which is proud of the door opening.
Does anyone have any ideas as to the best way to handle. One idea I had was to bend the door edge inward. Alternatively I could build up the area above the door with a bit of fibreglass.
Are there better ideas?
Cheers

I had the identical problem and it almost drove me insane. I looked at the bulging door for two years during the build process. I finally could not accept the crappy looking bulge, so I ordered all new door parts from Vans to fabricate a new door. Then after I got the new parts, I decided to mess around with the old door. I disassembled the upper pieces (drilled the rivets out). I bent the frame to the proper dimensions, and put it back together carefully with clecos and finally rivets. Amazingly I then had a perfectly fitted door. You will be able to see it at OSH this year - N943MA. If you fail, I can send you the new door parts which are still sitting in my garage (1/2 price naturally).
In thinking about it after the fact, I became a better metalsmith after those two years and looked at the problem as more of a challenge and less of a frustration.
PS - You will see other RV10's with the bulge at OSH. Remember nobody has a perfect plane, but you just don't want it to show.

I bent mine and it worked well. Probably depends out how far out of flush your door is. Bending would be an easy start, you could bend it back if you decide on another repair.
