Propeller Best for Kitfox IV Classic

I have a Warp Drive right now and thinking about changing if you could have any prop electric ground adjustable, manual Ground Adjustable, or even not adjustable which one would it be and why? Some one said there was a carbon fiber prop that acted like a electric in flight but was just ground adjustable. It would flex enough to give u good take off and would bite in was you go faster. Warp drive taper tip right now takes off good and(800 or better FPM at 60 mph) will run the plane all day at 105 and 5,300 to 5,400 RPM. Which one do u like $$$$ With in reason!!! Thanks all

IVO-Electrically adjustable. Reasonable price and the best performance you can get for a Kitfox/912 combination.

Lee,
This is an interesting subject. I had the Warp on my Kitfox and removed it for the Kiev. I was told that I would get better, smoother and quieter operation then the Warp. I saw it on some Highlanders and was thrilled with its beauty ! (still am) Its about 1 lb lighter than the Warp.
However after several pitch changes with it I have found it to be no better in speed than my Warp was. It is however turbine smooth and extremely quiet! It has to be much easier on the gearbox as they claim. It is a dramatic difference! Most aircraft have a speed increase with this propeller. As an example a Paradise P1 in our area with a smooth cowling had a 5mph speed increase going from a Warp to the Kiev. It is fast anyway. I believe the reason I didn't get an increase is due to the radial cowl on my Kitfox. The twist on the Kiev starts real early as you move away from the hub. This jams air down the open radial cowl thus increasing drag. My oil temp dropped almost 10 degrees when I put the Kiev on the plane.
I am going to keep my Kiev as I do like its smoothness and have not lost performance.
I have come to believe,however,that the Ivo might be the best overall prop in terms of speed as it is flexible. It sure isn't pretty though. Looks like a model airplane propeller and has stick on tape leading edges rather than a nice inlay as on the Warp (brass on the Kiev)
The Warp is a really tough prop, made well. I have mine hanging on the wall of my hanger in case I were to decide to go back to it in case I broke a blade or something on the Kiev.
Anyway, that's my opinion.

Dick,

Interesting report on the Kiev vs. the Warp. The trim on the Ivo being wholly in the end of the prop might the reason it is so well received. With the big round air scoop in the Model IV, the flexible tip might be just the thing. Leave the air alone over the hole. More to think about as I am getting ready to make that decision. Thanks for the observation.

Ok I have (warp drive 2 blade square TIP prop on now 13 degrees pitch) static of 5200 RPM's and it seems to be producing power. The climb was good 900' MIN (at) 60 mph 1/2 load fuel air density 2900'(temp 91) and just me in it did feel OK. cruise is still 105 (at) 5100 so it might need to come back to 12.8 I did feel a little more vibration than the 3 blade had.The tracking is true only off a hair. am I in the ball park till my 3 blade comes back in 2 weeks? It is harder to slow down than the 3 blade but it seems to be able to fly slower than the 3 and the less weight is slower with out chatter of the gear box (1800 RPM'S). I am going to a longer run way tomorrow after work and see how it feels on something longer than 1000' with 60' trees at each end. thanks for any suggestions.

What is the empty weight of your IV ?
900 ft/ min is poor for a 600 lb IV. If it weighs 800 lbs + i can see that maybe........BUT

try pitching for 5500 -5600 - 5800 static. If you into actual degrees then making it finer in 1/2 degree increments. eg 12.5 from 13.
redline is 5800 and at 5200 rpm you are only about 80% power approx which is about 65 hp. just make sure both blade are pitched the same for the RPM you want STATIC.
