Hi

I had to turn my main gear tires around during this year's condition
inspection because the inside is wearing much faster than the outside. I
remember a ZAC procedure a number of years ago to "square up" the main gear.
Does anyone one have a copy? It may have been like a service letter on the
701. ZAC doesn't seem to be able to come up with it.

I am putting the 801 on floats this weekend so I will be able work on the
main gear for a while off the plane.

Bill
Van's(the RV guy) has tapered shims that might work for truing up gear like ours. Google up his catalog. Van's Aircraft.

IMHO the one sides tire wear we experience on the 801 is caused by the unusual camber the main gear has built into it. The shims the RV guys use are for correcting toe in/ toe out.

Don't know if Van's has them or not but shims are also available for camber.
