July 13th at 7:30 am N865HB took its first flight.  The plane performed as advertised, GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  All temps and pressures were normal.



Mike and I would like to thank all who have gone before.  You kept us from making too many mistakes.  And a special thanks to Scott Schmidt for his help and patience with my transition training.  This is truly a community.

Congratulations..

I just got my 40 hours flown off of my -10 and I know the great feeling you have making the first flight.  I still have the RV grin, but it may be still from the first flight of my rv8.

Congratulations Rick!



But the real thanks should go to you both, and especially Mike.  I started my project not long after you, and your website was an IMMENSE value for me - never having tackled something like this before.  My lunchtimes and coffee breaks were often spent exploring your extensive documentation, and it was great watching not just yours, but Tim's and James McClow's builds evolve.  (It did not take long to discover who the high quality builders were!)



So thanks for helping me get to 'done' and letting me share your journey!
