Vic
I think Lynn means Lean Off Peak --- which is his carb setting to get the
most efficient cruise. If it's not right he'll probably be on later and
correct the meaning of LOP.

Thanks Ted,
Sounds right. Of course we with the humble Rotax 912 trust Bing to do the
job....

Ted-
Pretty close...it's "lean OF peak". And just for the record, I've got
a throttle-body injector, not a carb, but you're right...it's a
setting of the fuel mixture that makes the engine use less fuel and
allows cooler running, but make less power. It can only be used when
you have a throttle setting of about 65-70% power.

Vic-
Bing does a fine job of "hands off" flying, but once you leave the
ground with a particular fuel mixture....according to whatever jet
and metering needle you have on board...that's about what you've got,
and you can't change it on the fly like you can with a mixture-
controllable throttle body injector (TBI), or other such fuel
metering system.

Lynn,
Sounds like the Rotec throttle body does a good job.
Thanks for the clarification,
