This is completely NOT what I expected....
(which I suppose is the reason to do a survey in the first place)
Here's the current count
Keep the old with reduced price - 6
New system with high output - 6
Want to Trade in to new system - 4
(Yes, an Trade in is possible for a very reduced price. Just let me think on it a bit).

Hey RJ,
In case you need another data point. I currently have the older Boom
Beam light in my Cheetah and am quite happy with it. Well, guess I
would have liked to have purchased it for a reduced price...but...such
is the way things go with early adoption.
I think keeping the old light around with a reduced price would be
worthwhile for you. I find the light I have is a VAST improvement
over the original bulb. While I'm sure the new ones are even
brighter, I can't say I'd really consider going with that...especially
if there is a big price difference. Even if I were purchasing one new
for the first time (and knowing how my current one performs).
When my current light lights up the grain fields around the airport
when I'm on downwind at night and can be seen quite clearly during the
day...it just doesn't seem that "more power" is necessary or worth a
significant cost delta.
Anyway...that's my opinion...for your survey. Thanks for "asking the market".
