hi all,
4 yrs ago i bought my grove gear and matcowheels and brakes. in the past week all have been reinstalleed for the last time ad all went well except.............what the heck is everyone using to make the valve stem accessable without removing the wheel and disassembling it? i never really noticed how tight it was when i got it put together 4 yrs. ago.
and fwiw the plastic vent cap on top of the matco cylinder is a #8 thread. it can be replaced with anything #8 with a hole thru it and a hose attached. the hose drains into a can and you can pump a lot of extra fluid thru the brake system if necessary to get rid of air and catch it in the can.

I tried the pump from ACE that was posted earlier. Seemed to help the bleading.

It generally works best to bleed/fill from the bottom up. I use a pump oil can with a 6" vinyl hose push it on the pump oil can slip over the wheel brake bleeder and pump fluid in till no air comes out of the master cylinder, air bubble move up a lot easier then trying to force them down. You have to remove the screw from the master.

the ''screw'' in the cylinder is a #10. i took a #10 and drilled a hole thru it and worked over one end so a hose would fit over it and not leak. now i can pump as much fluid into the cylinder as it takes to remove air and the extra neatly goes into a can.
also, a 10-20 ml. syringe with an 18ga. needle slips into the cylinder after the job is done and takes the level of fluid down as much as is needed so it doesn't overflow.

Hi Bob, I think I may have missed your question were you asking about getting air into the tires with the Matco wheels if so yes it chan be fun when i replaced my tires I got the shortest valve stems available and found the the rubber one are best as they can be be flexed some also replaced the standard an nut with a smaller MS21043 nut to give more space.
