Hey Guys/Gals: I am looking to renew my insurance. I had a quote from someone (In Orlando I think) that was reasonable, but I seem to have misplaced the email. Can anyone give me a reasonable alternative?

I have a policy with AVEMCO, liability only, that’s all they would write last year, I’m not happy with the premium,
They claimed not enough aircraft to get a sample of liability or hull cost. They have my Alpi ELSA covered also.
No claims, hangared, multi plane coverage. Still exorbitant. Even with all the breaks. May be we should exercise
Some collective bargaining. Bob Haas, N 330BH, N 380BH.

Lynn:
I have been with Cannon Aircraft Insurance for over ten years through three aircraft. They have been excellent with any claims. My rate for the Esqual is around $2,200.

I have the same coverage and same premium with Falcon as Bear; next time I renew I plan to check with Sutton and James. I am told they offer good coverage with more reasonable premiums.

Linda/all: I have had my insurance with AIG for many years, through Aircraft and Marine assurance agency. My renewal is listed from Chartis Aerospace at $1591 plus the 1% Florida tax. I had a quote about 3 months ago for $1250, but I cannot find the information. (I believe it was from some broker in Orlando)
The quote includes Nick Otterback as a pilot and is for Ground and Flight with $100 deductible (ground and flight) and is listed at 1.8147% and the $1 million Liability (100,000 per person) is an additional $229. So the total for my $75,000 coverage is $1606.91.

As I recall, AOPA will not cover airplanes based on a grass strip. I guess I will try Sutton and James as well as EAA.

Thanks for the info Linda: I called Tom Murphy at Sutton and James. He provided me with a quote from Starr Aviation for $1285 which has coverage slightly better than AIG. So unless the EAA comes in better, I think I will be switching to Sutton and James.
The nice part is that Starr apparently does not have any prejudices against us more mature pilots (over 70).
