Does anyone have the initial blade angle settings for the V530 blades on M14 on an 18T?
Thanks
Joe

14.5 degrees measured 1 meter from the center of the oil tube out to the blade tip. This should end up being 8 inches in from the tip of the blade WHEN THE BLADES ARE SET TO THE SAME LENGTH. Put a pencil line on the back side of the blade across the cord of the blade. It is very important the blade lengths are equal before you set the angle. Measure from the sleeve/collar under the counterweight (where the blade screws into the hub) out to the tip. Set both blades to equal length. When you measure the blade angle measure on the back side of the blade, level the prop and measure the blade angle from only the left side as you face the prop. Set one blade then rotate and level the prop on top of the hub using your digital level/smart level.

I'll echo what Dennis stated and add that when I've set that angle, I then set a small laser level where the level was to project a line on the hanger floor, parallel to the prop. This I mark with a strip of reflective tape or a metal meter stick.
After that rotate the prop so the other blade is level and check to see whether the laser projected line hits the same spot. For this I made a fixture of course. What I have found is minor differences in each blade's curvature so I try and average out the settings to achieve the desired setting.
The result will be smoother operation, and make dynamic balancing easier.
