I did a pretty thorough search about a year ago for Van's stronger
struts. I ended up just getting theirs.

I haven't researched the exact dimensions but noticed McMaster Carr has a few pages of them.

Vans does resell a heavier duty strut than the default one in the finish kit.

What is the pressure required to close the strut? too much would seem to
snap the door open and too little would seem to be insufficient to hold it
open. The "drop in" dimensions may work but a pressure range would seem to
be needed. I was thinking of using the McMaster Carr strut but want to get
the pressure right.
