I don't know if you are supposed to use it on 912 series engines, but I just bought a can of Sta-Bil fogging oil from my local Auto Zone for under $6. The clerk told me that some stores have it, and they had just got it in

Jim,
The only other thing I see that might be useful is to spray the carb inlets with oil mist during shutdown of the engine. This was recommended during one of my Lockwood engine courses. Pennzoil makes such a product and it comes in a spray can.(probably need 2 cans) The oil will coat the engine cylinders, valves, carb interior, etc.
As I am in Florida I can fly all year BUT my Triumph TR3 sports car is in NC (where I am today). I intend on doing the same procedure to it in a few hours. I will run the engine with the carb filters off and then spray oil mist into each SU carb to kill the engine then leave the car till late spring driving weather when I return to the mountains.
Sta-bil should be added to any remaining gasoline(again recommended Rotax proceedure) if you don't drain it.

Dick--
Good advise, also check that you are using the "Blue" Stabil for ethanol gas
