I have been using an iCom A6 in my Jab 2200A powered Kolb Slingshot, exclusively and have no problems, when connected to a good airframe mounted antenna.

Thom, do you have any filters or capacitors installed on your set up?. How are your mags wired? is the mag wire shielding grounded to the engine as I've read about in the achieves.
Thanks

Dan,
I did not build this airplane and the airframe mounted antenna was installed by the builder. When he sold it to me, he removed his hand held radio and I connected my A-6. I run it with switched and fused 12-V power circuit dedicated to radio & gps. I've not installed anything that was not put there by the builder except for the different power cord to fit my different radio and gps.
