Some time ago there was a discussion regarding ways to cover the rubber fairing that covers the landing gear struts. Could somebody kindly point me to the discussion.

About 15 years ago I tried a whole bunch of ways to cover the foam gear leg fairings. What I found was that any material used for covering cracked and deteriorated faster than the foam itself. Plus, it was not easy to get the material on straight. Keep it simple.

My Cheetah had aluminum fairings installed that are somewhat common. Gene Plazak used to sell them or plans describing how to build them
When I removed them I like some others hound that the fairing had chafed almost thru the aluminum brake line. If you do a fairing like this be sure and prevent it from slipping down and ruining your brakes
