I guess time's a wasting and it is really past time to formally announce the
8th annual Cameron Park Kitfox Fly-in and BBQ.
Our traditional date has been the second Saturday in June. This year we
found that the Golden West fly-in is on the same weekend but decided to go
forward with our event as scheduled and planned. If you plan on going to
Golden West also, please try to avoid a mid day arrival or departure here.
We share the taxiways - streets with pedestrians and local traffic and
safety is a major concern.
Check http://cameronparkkitfox.com for details.
Hope to see you here.

I'm going to try really hard, but I doubt I'll be able to get my 40 hours
by then. Otherwise I'll be up in the Bonanza.

Then when ya'll are done with Lowell's Saturday event, just fill 'em up
and head to the 1st annual Kitfox/38th annual "all you can eat pancake
breakfast fly-in" at the Jackson County Airport, Jackson Michigan (JXN)
and have another fun day on Sunday. I'd almost be willing to guarantee
some kind of prize for anybody that can attend Lowell's gathering, and
ours here in Michigan the next day. Let's see....if you got to Lowell's
just after midnight on Saturday morning, "got your wrist stamped", then
headed here, and arrived by 11:59 pm Sunday night, I, and several
others would probably be up for making some kind of award. Any takers?.
Gotta be flying a Kitfox though, and no fair hitching a ride with a
727. : )

1668 nautical miles - 071 true – 69 knots – 24 hours / large fuel tank!
I'd help come up with an award !
Lynn - I plan on coming over - a bit shorter trip - and look forward to meeting you and others there.

Guy, Kitfoxes are preferred, but actually the builders, pilots and
wannabees are the most important in my mind, so Bonanzas are also welcome.
One of the local Kitfox pilots also has a Bonanza - so I can guarentee at
least one guy here will talk to you .

Actually, it would be about 48 hours, wouldn't it? Midnight Fri (Sat.
morning) to Midnight Sunday...yeah, almost 48 hours. Maybe that "award"
isn't so safe after all...let's see, how far did Lindy fly?
Maybe I'll have to bribe Lowell to keep an outbound runway closed at
Cameron Park just to insure that the prize is safe. What? Noise
abatements after 10 pm? Now you're talkin'...
Oh what the heck, I'd love to see somebody do it.
If I really wanted to hedge the bet, I'd say it had to be a Sport Pilot
as PIC the whole way...that would almost insure that the prize would be
safe. : )

Lynn,
You had me going for an instant. We have a Jackson airport about 30 minutes
South of here. Actually I was hoping your event would be later in the
Summer as I was hoping to arrange my travel plans to be there - flying in
the big bird. I need to meet some of the long time list members from the
Midwest. My wife is from Ohio.

Well, if my Kitfox isn't done in time I'll bring plenty of proud papa pictures.

Yes, I'm familiar with the Jackson in California, having lived in San
Fran ("don't call it 'frisco") and Davis/Dixon/Esparto for 22 years.
I only hoped to tag the Kitfox thing onto an existing fly-in, the
Jackson, MI thing, hoping to get some folks together and actually plan
for our own Kitfox get-together, some time later. When are you visiting
Ohio?
