Just a note about fairings for the kids on the list.
The common practice was to trim balsa wood to fit around the struts, sand to
shape and cover with dopped pinking tape wrapped around the struts. Cheap,
light and you could form to any desired shape.
Did my Mid-wing Heath that way.

i bought teardrop strut material from wag aero and used the zenith fittings.wasn't all that expensive.rans has plastic fairings for the jury struts....mike
