I'm in the process of replacing the original rear cockpit glass on my CJ. After disassembly I see that the original glass was isolated from the frame using very thin rubber strips which were glued to the metal frame or in some locations to the glass itself.
I read Jill's article regarding canopy replacement but was wondering what you all have used to keep the frame from directly touching the glass. I think the felt strips at 1/16" would be too thick.
Thanks,
Keith McKinley

I used a heavy vinyl tape to line the canopy glass where it touches the frame, along with some felt at the sides aft where it touches the fuselage.
