Got another question
This plane has Millennium cylinders with a casting number of SLC36005. The only thing I can find on the internet is an application for an O320E2D.
This plane can't possibly have O320 cylinders . . . can it?

Gary,
My Tiger (O-360, of course) had Millennium cylinders. In fact I have a fresh spare sitting in the hanger that I never needed.....I can check the markings on if need be and It is available for sale or trade if you or someone needs it.

The O-320 has a shorter stroke. If you used O-320 cylinders with the
O-360 crank and rods I would suspect the pistons would hit the top of
the cylinder heads or the valves. If that didn't happen the CR would be
extreemly high! The head casting number may be the same, just a longer
barrel on the O-320 possibly.

Sure about what? I didn't say I was sure about anything except that the
O-320 has a shorter stroke than and O-360.

I wasn't talking about the connecting rod length, but the engine stroke.
Since both engines have the same bore the O-360 has a greater stroke.
As to cylinder length, I have both cylinders in my hanger, so I'll
check on their length when I get a chance. I still think the O-360
cylinder is longer.

Just the opposite of what stated. I did not do the research, I do not
have the factory manual for building an O-360. Only want was told to be
by Columbia Engines.

Cliff,
The O360 is 1/2 inch longer. These have to be the right cylinders. Not sure why the casting number doesn't show up on Superiors web site.

I think that is essentially what I said: longer stroke, longer
cylinders. I just wasn't sure if it was 1/2" or something close.
Actually, the displacement and stoke is: 361 in.^3/4.375 in and
319.8/3.875. The O-360 rod length is 0.25 in LONGER than the O-320 rod
(don't know what Barry's engine shop was smoking when they told him is
was shorter!)
And I don't see how you could install O-320 cylinders (with the 8.5:1 CR
piston) on an O-360 engine without either the piston hitting the head or
valves or the top ring coming out of the bore at the top.
