Hello Zenith Land,

Tomorrow is the big day, I will attempt my first start-up and flght in my "B" Zodiac since Oct of 2009 when I grounded my aircraft.  I completely stripped and repainted my airplane.

Any advice for starting an engine that hasn't run for such a long time? ( she was drained of all fuel and cylinder heads/barrels were sprayed with preservative oil)

The weather looks good for tomorrow and I so want to enjoy my bird again.  Thanks for your time and consideration.

Jeff,

Be safe on your second, first flight. If you have not run your engine in a while, a good looking over of the Bing would be in order. Make sure the bowl area is clean of a sediment/varnishing. Also make sure the slide piston moves easily and that there is no corrosion present. This is all typical things to look at. Personally, I would also run it a bit, including a static RPM check, and then remove the cowls and check things over one more time prior to the flight.

After that...have fun!

Dave
