Hello all,
I was wondering how one might adjust a 701 to bring the nose down a little during straight and level flight. When I bought the plane, the builder suggested the rigging could be adjusted to bring it down some... I assume at the sacrifice of speed. I believe he was going to bring both ailerons down some. Is that the procedure?
I think my 701 is flying more nose high than it did before I changed my 3 blade GSC prop for a 3 blade IVO. I dropped 3 lbs off the front and the Weight and balance shows that the CG moved 6mm aft but is still well within spec.
As always, any help is greatly appreciated.

Many years ago I had the same complaint: I adjusted my flaperons down a
little below the "0 degrees" which the plans called for--- this made a
tremendous improvement.

My 801 flies nose up too.... I think it the way Chris designed that 701/750/801 series as I have heard this comment alot... It is almost like the angle of incidence of the wings is incorrect but there is no way to change that and maintain edge distance on the wing spar to fuselage pick up points. In cruise flight mine is what I consider nose up and should be slower as it feels like it is trying to climb. I add about 2-4 degrees of flaps and the nose lowers and it looks better... but by doing that Iose 3-5 mph. Seems counterproductive but that is the facts in my case. YMMV

I too had a nose high attitude. I lowered the flaperons in small increments and checked the airspeed. I picked up 2 or 3 mph and am level in cruise (except at high density altitude like 11000 feet). Now when retracted, the flaperons are a bit lower than what the plans specify.
Check my 701 brake article in the July Kitplanes.
