My forward top skin is in one piece, but I would like to be able to have easy access between the firewall and instrument panel in the future. I realize that I can use U-clips and R&R the whole piece, but I'm really looking for something like an access hole or two.
What has worked for you? Pictures would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Hi, Larry, I cut a one foot by two foot hole in the front top skin and secured a cover piece one and a half inches bigger each way with 8/32 stainless screws into riv-nuts. I used fifty screws and beveled the outside 3/8” edge. Not sure if it shows on my site, but feel free to check it out.

Happy building!

Thanks to everyone for the great ideas and practical tips. I'm ready to cut some more aluminum!
