Thom, I wouldn't describe the Zenith system as "really good".  It's adaquate.
The week links in the design are that the arms that actuate the cables running
to the carbs are both at the right hand side and the friction adjustment
mechanism is a pain.  One cable is only about a foot long but the other is
closer to three feet long.  Admittedly, once I got mine set up it seems to have
stayed where it was set and haven't noticed any issues with vibrations.  After
about 40 hrs and seven months of flying I plan on verifying my carb balance when
I get a chance next week.

Ron,

Zenith has a really good way to avoid the cable splitter entirely. The cockpit
throttle controls directly operate a pivot arm mechanism mounted on the engine
side of the firewall. The arms on the pivot mechanism are rigidly interconnected
to each other and move the carb throttle arms via short straight cables. Much
simpler and less tortuous than long sheathed cables that can start to bind
after many hours years of service.
