Today was the first day I have been able to fly in about three weeks. A couple
of weeks ago somone suggested playing with the flapperon angles might have an
interesting effect of the speed. I found my missing five MPH today that I
didn't get when I added the streamlined strut covers. I have the SPAL electric
actuator and the electronic controller for my flapperons so I was able to adjust
their position without turning a wrench.
Once I was leveled off and seeing my typical 78-80 mph cruise, I tapped my
flapperon controller to put in just a little bit of flapperon. I could feel the
nose drop noticably and the plane immediately jumped up to 85 MPH cruise. I
tweaked and adjusted the position up and down during the rest of the flight but
was unable to get anything better than a consistant 85. 85 is awesome, that's
exactly where I'd hoped to be.

And a very happy pilot

Congrats Doug
Do you have electric elevator trim to try next? Possibly a blend of both flap and elevator, (keep the flap setting you found, adjust the elevator)?...Don B
